DIY Asus ZenFone 5 Lite Charging Port Replacement Guide
Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 6 Steps
Step 1
Handle the cover and the rest of the phone with care to avoid snapping the delicate connection between the touch sensor on the cover and the motherboard. Let’s keep everything cozy together!
– Grab a thin plastic tool – think of it like a tiny superhero for your phone! Slide it gently under the back cover and start peeling it off. Once you’ve got a good grip, slide the tool around the edges like you’re giving your phone a little hug. Keep going until you’ve freed all the edges and you can lift the back cover right off.
Step 2
One of the seven screws is hiding under a little white sticker with the letters “CS” on it. Don’t worry about taking off the sticker! Just poke through it with your screwdriver and unscrew like normal. Easy peasy!
– Unscrew the seven Phillips #0 screws that are hanging out on the bottom side of your phone. They’ve been waiting for you to show them some love, so let’s get to it!
Step 3
– Grab your trusty nylon spudger and gently pry off that lower cover. Use the opening tool to give it a little lift and you’re good to go!
Step 4
Keep it steady! Use one finger to hold down the charging port circuit board while gently prying off the connection—no breaks allowed! If you need help, you can always schedule a repair.
– Take your trusty prying tool and carefully pop off that sneaky connection hiding behind the black cover. You’ve got this!
Step 5
– Find that gold-tipped black wire hanging out with the charging port circuit board.
– Sneak the plastic prying tool under the silver clasp and give it a little pop.
Step 6
– To put your device back together, just retrace your steps in reverse order. You’ve got this!
– If you’re stuck or need a hand, you can always schedule a repair.
