Steps: 9 Steps
Heads up! If things get too tricky, you can always schedule a repair. You’ve got this!
A fun and easy guide to help you tackle the task of taking out and swapping in a new motherboard. Let’s get to it!
Step 1
– To get the strap off, look for the little knob on it. Just slide that knob towards the opposite side of the strap, and voilà! The tension on the spring bar will let loose, making it super easy to pull the strap out. You’re doing great!
Step 2
Keep your parts organized and in one place with the handy magnetic pad!
– Grab your T5 Torx driver and pop out the four screws holding the case.
– With just a bit of gentle pressure, the case will come off nice and easy.
Step 3
Gently peel off the fabric to avoid any damage. Easy does it with those metal tweezers!
– Grab those tweezers and gently lift the fabric shielding the battery connection. Nice and easy!
– Using the heavy-duty spudger, give the contact a gentle nudge towards the top of the case. Almost there!

Step 5
There are two connection ports on that single ribbon. Just a gentle touch is all you need—too much force and you might end up with a ribbon that’s had its last dance!
– Grab those metal tweezers and gently lift off the fabric that’s cozying up the connection in the bottom right corner.
