Step 2
Got a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate handy? Those can be useful tools! Just a heads-up, though: too much heat can be a display’s worst nightmare and might even mess with internal batteries. So, keep it cool and proceed with a little caution!
– Gently place your phone down on a clean, smooth surface with the back glass facing up, like it’s ready for a spa day.
– Grab that trusty iOpener, give it a good heat-up, and then cozy it up to the bottom edge of the back glass for a solid two minutes. It’s like giving your phone a warm hug!

Next up, we’ll be using the Anti-Clamp, a tool designed to make things super easy. If you’re not using the Anti-Clamp, skip the next three steps and we’ll show you a different way to do it.

Make sure the suction cup on the inner screen isn’t touching the bezel, because it won’t stick properly.
If your phone is a little slippery, you can use some tape to give the Anti-Clamp a better grip. If the glass is cracked, use packing tape to help the suction cups stick.
– Let’s unlock some fun! Pull that blue handle back like you’re taming a wild beast. Then, spread those Anti-Clamp arms like you’re hugging a teddy bear. Now, plant those suction cups near the edge, like you’re erecting a connect-the-dot puzzle. And lastly, give those cups a gentle squeeze like a friendly handshake. Next steps coming right up!
Step 4
– Grab an object like a sturdy box or some books and slide it under your phone. This will help keep your device steady while it’s snug between the arms of the Anti-Clamp.
– With a gentle tug, pull the blue handle forward to secure those arms like a champ.
– Now it’s time to get turning! Rotate that handle clockwise a full 360 degrees or until you see those suction cups starting to stretch.
– Keep an eye on those suction cups; they need to stay aligned! If they start to sway out of sync, just detach them and realign the arms for a perfect fit.
Step 5
Take it easy! Only twist a quarter turn at a time, and give it a minute to chill between each turn. Let the Anti-Clamp and a little patience do their magic for you.
If the Anti-Clamp isn’t making enough space, just crank up the heat a bit more and give that handle a little twist—about a quarter turn should do the trick!
– Slide an opening pick into the gap between the back glass and the frame. It’s like giving your phone a little hug, but with a tool instead.

Step 6
If your back glass is super cracked, cover it with some clear packing tape to help the suction cup stick. You can also use some super strong tape if that’s easier. If things just aren’t working, you can always give that suction cup a little extra hold with some superglue! But be careful!
Older phones can be a bit tricky, so don’t be afraid to use a little extra heat to get that edge nice and loose. Keep on trying, you’ll get it!
– Grab your trusty suction cup and stick it to the back glass, aiming for the center of the bottom edge. Make sure it’s nice and snug!
– Now, give that suction cup a good, strong pull! You’re trying to create a little gap between the back glass and the frame. Don’t be shy, give it a tug!
– With that gap open, slide an opening pick into it – you’re starting to get somewhere!
Step 7
Keep your opening pick to a maximum depth of 3.5 mm when tackling that back glass adhesive! Going deeper could lead to some unintentional damage to those delicate internal components. Stay safe and smart while you repair!
– Gently glide the opening pick back and forth along the bottom edge to break that adhesive seal. You’re doing great!
– Once you’ve got that going, just leave the opening pick resting in the bottom left corner before moving on. Keep it steady!
Step 8
– Warm up that back glass! Use a heated iOpener on the left edge for a couple of minutes.

– Gently twist the opening pick around the bottom left corner to break free the adhesive. Keep it smooth and steady, and you’ll be on your way to a successful repair!
Step 10
– Pop in a second opening pick at the bottom left corner.
– Gently glide that pick up towards the top left corner to break free the adhesive.
– Keep the pick in place at the top left corner while you move on to the next step.
Step 11
– Grab your trusty heated iOpener and give the top edge of the back glass a nice, warm hug for two minutes. It’s like a spa day for your phone!

– Gently twist the opening pick around the top left corner to break free the adhesive. Keep it smooth and steady, and you’ll be on your way to a successful repair!
Step 13
– Let’s get this party started! Stick that third opening pick in the top left corner.
– Now, slide the opening pick towards the top right corner to make those sticky bits let go. We’re almost there!

– Warm up your trusty iOpener and give the right edge of that back glass a cozy two-minute hug.

Hey there, just a friendly heads-up! That sharp corner is super delicate, so make sure to warm things up nicely and handle it with extra care during this step. You’ve got this!
– Position your pick so it’s as flat as can be against the back glass—you’re doing great!
– Gently twist the opening pick around the top right corner to break free the adhesive. Keep it up!
Step 16
– Alright, let’s get this party started! Pop a fourth opening pick into the top right corner like a pro.
– Now, slide that pick down to the bottom right corner like you’re gliding on a dance floor. We’re separating the adhesive, so get ready to groove!
Step 17
That corner is super sensitive, so be careful! Use some heat to help it along and be gentle. You got this!
– Position your pick so it’s as flat as a pancake against the back glass.
– Twist the opening pick around the bottom right corner to break free the adhesive.
Step 18
Hold your horses! Don’t yank off that back glass just yet; it’s still hanging on by a cable.
Alright, now the back glass should be ready to party with the frame. If you’re still feeling a little resistance, grab an opening pick and give those stubborn bits a little nudge. You got this!
– Give the left edge of that back glass a little swing to lift it up and over the right edge of your phone.
– Now, gently lay the back glass over to the right side of the phone and you’re ready to roll!
Step 19
As you dive into this repair adventure, remember to keep an eye on each screw and return it to its original home. They get lonely, you know!
The Pixel Fold may be rocking Torx Plus screws, but don’t sweat it—standard Torx bits can join the party too! Just grab the same size or one size up (T3 or T4 Torx bits with 3IP Torx Plus screws) and apply steady, downward pressure to keep things from getting stripped. You’ve got this!
– Grab your trusty Torx Plus 3IP driver and carefully unscrew those two 2.8 mm-long screws holding the middle bracket in place. You’ve got this!
Step 20
– Grab those tweezers or just use your fingers to gently nudge the middle bracket towards the left edge of the phone and pop that clip free.
– Now, go ahead and take out the middle bracket.
– When it’s time to put everything back together, make sure to tuck the middle bracket clip back into its cozy spot in the frame before lining up those screw holes.

– Get ready to rock and roll as you delicately unplug the back glass cable from the motherboard using a trusty spudger. You got this!
Gotta reattach that press connector? No problemo! Just make sure you’ve got the right groove goin’, then press down on one side and work your way to the other. Be careful, don’t wanna mess up those lil’ pins, ya know? This connector’s like a dance, so make sure you got your moves in sync. If you need a hand, you can always schedule a repair.
