Steps: 10 Steps

In this handy guide, we’re going to walk you through the steps to take out your Samsung Galaxy S6’s logic board like a pro! Whether you’re looking to give it a good clean after some water mischief or just want to dive in, we’ve got you covered. Remember, if you need help, you can always schedule a repair.

Step 1

– The back cover of your Samsung Galaxy S6 is stuck on there like a clingy friend. To break free, you’ll need to warm it up with a heat gun to soften that stubborn glue. Once it’s feeling a bit more relaxed, grab a plastic pick and gently slide it into the tiny gap between the frame and the glass to lift off the adhesive.

– Speaking of gaps, the space between the aluminum frame and the glass is pretty tight. A flat, sturdy tool will work wonders here, so make sure you have one handy.

– Now, it’s time to carefully lift that back cover using a suction cup. Give it a gentle tug!

– Once you see a little opening, slide in that plastic pick to keep everything safe while you work. No need to worry about damaging the aluminum!

Step 2

– Just slide that pick in a few millimeters between the back cover and the frame—this will keep the insides safe and sound!

– The back cover of the Galaxy S6 is glued all around the outer edge. So, let’s take that pick for a little stroll around the phone! Remember, the inside is painted, so be gentle while you’re at it. Any leftover adhesive? No worries, just clean it up carefully to keep scratches and cracks at bay.

– Once you’ve freed all that glue, you can gently lift off the back cover. You’ve got this!

Step 3

– First things first, let’s get those 13 Phillips screws out of the way! Grab your trusty screwdriver and remove those 13 x 3.3 mm Phillips screws holding the plastic cover snugly in place.

– Next up, it’s time to free the SIM card tray! Gently take it out and set it aside.

– Now, let’s lift the charging pad for wireless charging. It’s just a little shy and lightly glued to the midframe, so be gentle as you coax it up.

– To tackle the midframe, you’ll need to give the battery a little push down while using your other hand to lift the frame up. If it’s playing hard to get, don’t hesitate to slide a pick between the display and the frame and give it a little nudge upwards.

Step 4

– Gently slide the spudger’s tip just below the contact and lift it up with a smile. Remember, we’re keeping those resistors happy on the logic board!

– Time to say goodbye to the front camera connector. Handle it with care, like you’re holding a delicate flower.

Step 5

– Time to disconnect some contacts! Grab your spudger and gently slide the flat end just below the contacts, then give them a little lift. We’re talking about the Battery, Display, Earpiece, Home button, and two antenna connectors. Easy peasy!

– Now, let’s get a little adventurous! Carefully lift the logic board up at the back camera area and fold it to the side. Just a heads up, the back of the logic board is still hanging out with the dock connector.

Step 6

– Once the logic board is folded over, you can use the spudger to disconnect the connection.

Step 7

– Alright, let’s get that dock connector back in action by plugging it into the logic board once more.

– Now, give it a gentle fold and tuck it into the frame.

– Keep an eye out for those pesky cables—make sure they’re not sneaking under the logic board. You can use the picture as your trusty guide to ensure your logic board is sitting pretty.

– Time to reconnect all the connectors: Battery, Display, Earpiece, Home button, and those Antenna connectors. You’ve got this!

Step 8

– Alright, let’s get that front camera back where it belongs! Place it in its original spot.

– Next up, it’s time to connect the connector to the logic board. You’ve got this!

Step 9

– Let’s get that outer frame back on the main component! Start at the dock connector and give those two frame pieces a nice, firm press to bring them together.

– Once they’re snug, it’s time to secure them with some screws. Grab your 13 x 3.3 mm Phillips screws and tighten them up!

Step 10

– Now it’s time to wrap things up! Grab that back cover and pop it back on like you mean it.

– The old glue should still have some stickiness left, so we’re in luck!

– Just gently heat the back cover a bit, then press it down firmly on your smartphone for a little while. You’ve got this!
