Step 1
– Press and hold the blue action button for a solid five seconds to power down your trusty power station.
– Fold the kickstand back in.
Step 2
As you tackle this repair, be sure to keep an eye on those screws! They have a knack for wanting to wander off, so make sure each one finds its way back to its original home.
– Grab your trusty T10 Torx screwdriver and get ready to rock! Carefully remove the two 8 mm-long screws that are holding on the rear cover. You’ve got this!
Step 3
– Grab that rear cover and gently pull the bottom edge towards you, like you’re peeling a banana!
– Now, go ahead and remove the rear cover with confidence.
– When it’s time to put things back together, start by hooking in the top edge of the rear cover first, and then press the bottom edge into place. Easy peasy!
Step 4
Hey there! Just a friendly reminder to keep those metal tools away from the battery. We want you to stay safe and sound, so let’s avoid any shocking surprises!
Step 5
– Keep the groove going and gently pry up on alternating sides of the battery connector to ‘walk’ it off the two plugs. Once you’ve loosened it up, you should be able to easily grab it with your fingers.
Step 6
Hey there! Be careful not to yank that connector too hard or you might end up with a surprise from those sharp metal edges. If it’s being stubborn, just keep gently prying with your spudger until it decides to loosen up and let go. You’ve got this!
Step 7
– As you gear up for reassembly, let’s make sure to reconnect that battery like a pro!
Step 8
– Gently place your fingers on the screw holes of the rear cover and give the chassis a little nudge to pop it out of the enclosure.
Step 9
– Gently slide the chassis all the way out of the enclosure, just be careful not to let that battery connector get caught up in the mix.
– When putting things back together:
Step 11
– Time to get that metal battery cover off! Let’s make some space for the magic to happen.
– And remember, as you put everything back together, keep it cool and take your time!
Step 13
– Gently yank the shiny silver selector knob straight out from the front panel to free it up.
Step 14
– Go ahead and give those two locking tabs a gentle press with your fingers to set the front panel free.
– While you’re keeping those tabs down, give the front panel a little nudge away from the chassis and lift it off.
– Now, when it’s time to put everything back together:
Step 15
– Turn your power station upside down, and let’s get started!
– Grab a Phillips screwdriver and take out those four 6 mm-long screws holding the two main board supports in place.
– Say goodbye to the main board supports as you remove them.
– When putting everything back together, remember to position the beveled sides of the main board support screw holes facing up.
Step 16
– Gently use your finger to lift the main board near the USB‑C port, just enough to grab the edges of the board with a confident grip.
Step 17
– With one hand, hold the chassis steady like a pro.
– With your other hand, grab the main board around the middle like you’re about to do something amazing.
– Gently lift the board straight up and away from the display, making sure to guide the selector knob through its cutout like a boss.
Step 18
The long pins on the main board snugly fit into the UI board, keeping everything nice and secure.
– With one hand, give a gentle but firm hold on the main board.
– With your other hand, take hold of the UI board by its edges and pull it straight out from the main board to disconnect it. You’ve got this!
– When putting everything back together:
Step 19
– Grab your fingers, some small pliers, or a trusty 10 mm wrench and give that thin nut holding the selector knob a gentle twist to loosen it up.
Step 20
– Gently wiggle that nut and washer off the front of the knob and set them aside.
– Carefully pull the knob out from its cozy spot to release it from the UI board.
– Keep a steady hand on the knob and its cables while you work on the UI board, making sure they don’t get in the way.
Step 21
Take extra care not to bump or knock any of those tiny, surface-mounted components hanging out near the connector. They’re a bit shy and don’t like to be disturbed!
Step 23
Watch out for those tiny surface-mounted components on the board! They’re delicate little fellas, so handle with care.
– Lift the UI board just a smidge above your work surface and grab a spudger. With the flat side facing down, give those two display pegs a gentle but firm push through their little cutouts on the board.
– When it’s time to put everything back together, simply press those pegs into their designated holes on the UI board until you hear that satisfying click. You’re doing great!
