Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 20 Steps
make sure your battery dips below 25% before diving in
Get ready to breathe new life into your Galaxy A51 by replacing that worn-out or dead battery. If you notice any swelling, be sure to take the necessary precautions to stay safe. Before you start disassembling your phone, make sure to discharge the battery to below 25% to minimize the risk of any unexpected thermal events. When you’re reassembling, don’t forget you’ll need some replacement adhesive to get everything stuck back together nicely. If you need help or want some expert guidance, you can always schedule a repair.
Step 1
Don’t worry, it’s not rocket science! Just make sure the cards are facing the right way when you put them back in the tray. If you need help, you can always schedule a repair.
– Grab your trusty SIM card eject tool, a SIM eject bit, or even a straightened paper clip – whatever you have handy! Insert it into the little hole on the SIM tray on the left side of your phone.
– Give it a firm push to pop that tray right out!
– Now, gently pull out the SIM card tray and you’re all set!

Step 2
Keep that phone cool, friend! Overheating can mess with the AMOLED display and internal battery. Stay cool and keep things chill, and if you need help, you can always schedule a repair.
First things first, make sure your phone is totally powered off before diving in.
Now, the adhesive on the Samsung Galaxy A51 is no joke! If you’re having a tough time getting the device open with the iOpener, feel free to give it a little warmth with a hair dryer or heat gun. Just a gentle touch will do!
– Get your iOpener ready and give the back cover a little heat. This will help soften the adhesive holding it in place.

Step 3
– Let’s get that back cover off! Carefully slide the tip of an opening pick between the frame and the back cover at the bottom of the phone near the USB-C port.
– If you’re having trouble getting between the back cover and midframe with your pick, you can use a suction handle or strong tape to pull up the back cover to create a little gap.
– Once you’ve got that gap, slide the opening pick to the bottom right corner and leave it there. You’re doing great!

Step 4
– Grab a second opening pick and slide it smoothly from the bottom right corner to the bottom left corner to slice through the adhesive.
– Leave the opening picks where they are to keep the adhesive from sealing back up.
Step 5
If things get sticky, just add a little more heat to loosen things up! Make sure to follow the iOpener instructions to avoid overheating. If you need help, you can always schedule a repair.
– Pop that third opening pick right under the bottom left corner of the back cover.
– Gently slide the opening pick down the left edge of your phone like you’re buttering toast.
– Park the opening pick in the top left corner to keep that pesky adhesive from saying, ‘Not today!’

Step 6
– Slide a fourth opening pick under the top left corner of the back cover, right by the camera. You’ve got this!
– Gently glide the tip of the opening pick along the top edge of the phone all the way to the right corner to slice through that adhesive.
– Keep the opening pick snug in the top right corner to stop the adhesive from sealing back up. Nice work!
Step 7
– Now, let’s get this back cover off with some help from our opening picks. Go ahead and put a pick in each corner, making sure to get that fifth one in the top right corner.
– Time to do a little dance along the right edge of the phone. Slide that pick from the top right down to the bottom right, cutting through any remaining adhesive. Keep it moving!
Step 8
– Pop off the back cover like a pro!
– Once you’ve got that back cover snugly in place, give your phone a little love by applying firm, steady pressure for a few minutes. A stack of heavy books can be your best buddy here to help the adhesive stick like it means it!
Step 9
– Let’s get those thirteen 3 mm Phillips #00 screws out of the way so we can access the midframe. Grab your trusty screwdriver and let’s make it happen!
Step 10
The midframe is snugly secured by a series of plastic clips, keeping everything nicely in place.
– Gently slide an opening pick between the midframe and front panel at the bottom of the phone, right by the charge port.
– Now, glide that pick over to the left bottom corner to pop those pesky plastic clips loose.
– Finally, move the pick over to the bottom right corner to free the remaining plastic clips. You’re making great progress!
Step 11
– Keep gliding that opening pick along the right side of your phone until all those pesky plastic clips pop free. You’re doing great!
Step 12
– Now it’s time to get this repair started – slide the opening pick along the top edge to release those top plastic clips and get ready to dive in.
Step 13
– Gently slide the opening pick from the top left corner down to the bottom left corner to pop those plastic clips free on the left side. You’ve got this!
Step 16
– Now, grab your spudger – that handy tool with the flat end. Gently pry up and disconnect the interconnect cable from the motherboard. You’re doing great! If you need help, you can always schedule a repair

Step 19
Hey, be super careful not to bend or squish the battery during this step. These soft-shell lithium-ion batteries can get a little grumpy if they’re not treated right and could spill some nasty chemicals, get hot, or even do a little boom if you’re not careful. Don’t use any crazy force or poke at it with metal tools. If you need help, you can always schedule a repair.
