Step 2
– Unscrew the trio of identical Phillips screws securing the memory door.
Step 3
– Gently lift the memory door just enough to grab it firmly, then slide it toward yourself and pull it away from the casing like you’re opening a treasure chest. Let’s make this device feel brand new!
Step 4
– Unscrew the two 2.8 mm Phillips screws chilling in the battery compartment near the latch.
Step 5
– Hey there! Time to rock and roll by removing these 6 screws:

– Unscrew the four 3.2 mm Phillips screws located on the port side of the computer. Let’s get those screws out and move one step closer to victory!
Step 7
– Twist that computer 90 degrees and unscrew the two 3.2 mm Phillips screws chilling at the back. Keep it cool and steady!
Step 8
– Twist your device a cool 90 degrees once more and unscrew those four snazzy 3.2 mm Phillips screws from the side. Keep going, you’re doing great!
Step 9
Hold your horses when removing the upper case! It’s still tethered to the logic board by a sneaky ribbon cable.
– Start by lifting the rear of the case and use your fingers to loosen the sides as you go along. Continue to wiggle the case slightly up and down once the sides are loose to detach the front of the upper case, which might be held by some sneaky hidden clips.
Step 10
– Unplug the trackpad and keyboard ribbon cables from the logic board, peeling off any tape in your way.
– Lift off the upper case.
Step 11
– Unplug the trio of antenna cables from the Airport Extreme card.
– Apple hooked us up with a handy label to show where each colorful antenna cable should go—don’t forget to peek at it when plugging them back in!
Step 12
– Take out the lone black T6 Torx screw that’s hanging out just above the Airport Extreme card. You’ve got this!
Step 13
– Give that small silver metal retaining bracket a little lift and guide it out of the computer.
Step 14
– Gently lift the Airport Extreme card and slide it out of its cozy connector.
