How to Replace iPad 6 Wi-Fi Battery – DIY Guide
Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 108 Steps
Time to jazz up that iPad 6 Wi-Fi with a fresh new battery! If your battery’s feeling a little puffed up, just play it safe. When you’re saying ‘seeya’ to the old battery, handle it with care using a battery blocker. Those battery contacts are delicate little things, so let’s keep them happy to avoid any drama with the logic board. And hey, if you’re feeling brave and want to skip isolating the battery, remember: metal tools are a no-no unless absolutely necessary (like those pesky screws). Let’s keep things smooth sailing to protect those sensitive circuit components!
Step 1
– Warm up your iOpener and give it a cozy two-minute hug on the left edge of your device.

Step 2
– As you let that adhesive take its sweet time to loosen up, keep an eye out for these delicate spots that prefer to be treated with care when you’re prying:
Step 3
In the next three steps, we’ll show you how to use the Anti-Clamp, our nifty little tool designed to make opening your device a breeze. If you’re not rocking the Anti-Clamp, no worries! Just skip ahead three steps for a different approach.
– Give that blue handle a gentle tug back to release the Anti-Clamp’s arms—it’s like giving it a little hug!
– Slide something under your iPad so it sits nice and flat between the suction cups—think of it as a cozy bed for your device.
– Place the suction cups close to the center of the left edge—one on top and one on the bottom, like a perfect little sandwich.
– Keep a steady hand on the bottom of the Anti-Clamp and press down firmly on the top cup to create a strong suction—you’re doing great!
Step 4
– Give the blue handle a little pull forward to snugly lock those arms in place.
– Now twist that handle clockwise a full 360 degrees or until you see those suction cups starting to stretch. You’ve got this!
– Keep an eye on those suction cups to make sure they’re staying in line. If they start to wander off, just loosen them a tad and realign the arms for a perfect fit.
Step 5
– Hang tight for a minute to let the magic adhesive do its thing and create a lovely little opening gap.
– If your screen is feeling a bit chilly, give it some warmth with a hair dryer along the left edge of the iPad.
– Gently slide an opening pick under the digitizer once the Anti-Clamp works its wonders and makes a good-sized gap.
– Feel free to skip the next step and keep on shining!
Step 6
– Get that screen nice and toasty, then grab a suction handle and stick it on the left side of the screen as close to the edge as you can.
– Lift up the screen using the suction handle to make a tiny gap between the digitizer and the frame.
– Slide in an opening pick into the gap between the digitizer and the frame.
If your display is seriously cracked, try covering it with clear packing tape to help the suction cup stick better. You could also use some very strong tape if you’re feeling daring. And in a pinch, there’s always the option to superglue the suction cup to the broken screen. Stay calm, explore your options, and remember, Salvation Repair is here to help. If you need assistance, you can always schedule a repair.

Step 7
No stress if the opening pick is visible through the digitizer—just remove it. The LCD screen is tough and should be unscathed, although there’s a possibility of leaving some tricky adhesive residue behind.
– Time to jazz it up! Pop in another opening pick right into that sweet gap you just made.
– Gently slide the pick towards the bottom-left corner of the device to work that adhesive apart.
– Keep that pick snug in the bottom-left corner to make sure the adhesive doesn’t decide to stick back together.
Step 8
– If your opening pick is feeling a bit clingy in the adhesive, just give it a little ‘roll’ along the side of the iPad to keep that adhesive separating like a pro!
Step 9
– Gently slide the first opening pick into the top-left corner of your device to break that adhesive seal.
– Keep the pick in place at the top-left corner to stop the adhesive from sticking back together.
Step 10
– Warm up an iOpener and gently place it on the upper edge of the device for a couple of minutes.

Step 11
– Gently wiggle the tool around the upper-left corner of your device to loosen up the sticky stuff.
Step 12
Steer clear of dragging the pick across the front camera; you wouldn’t want to put the lens in harm’s way! Follow these steps to keep everything safe and sound.
– Glide that opening pick along the top edge of your device, and halt just before you meet the front camera.
Step 13
– Pull the pick out until only the tip is nestled between the digitizer and the frame.
– Glide the pick above the front camera to unstick that adhesive.
– Leave the pick chilling near the right side of the front camera before moving on.
Step 15
– Warm up your iOpener and give it a cozy two-minute hug on the right edge of your device.

Step 16
– Swing that pick around the top-right corner like a pro to break that adhesive bond.
Step 17
The display cables hang out around the halfway mark from the bottom of your iPad. Just slide until you’re about three inches from the bottom, and then stop. You’ve got this!
– Swap in a fresh opening pick and smoothly glide it towards the center of the iPad’s right side.
Step 18
– Warm up a cool iOpener and gently press it onto the lower edge of the device for a couple of minutes.

Step 19
– Gently slide that bottom-left pick into the corner to break free the adhesive like a pro.
– Keep the pick snug in the bottom-left corner before you dive into the next step.
Step 20
– Gently slide a fresh opening pick into the little gap you just made at the bottom edge of the iPad.
– Carefully glide the pick over the antenna, but hold up just shy of the home button.
– Make sure to keep the pick to the left of the home button before moving on.
Step 21
Be careful to only insert the pick up to 1 mm—going deeper could put the right antenna in a bit of a pickle!
– Slide an opening pick into the gap you’ve just opened up.
– Carefully maneuver the pick under the home button, gliding it toward the bottom-right corner. Just make sure only the tip is nestled between the digitizer and the frame!
Step 22
– Pop that pick back in and glide it towards the home button to free up the bottom adhesive.
– Keep the pick hanging out on the right side of the home button before you move on.
Step 23
– Warm up your iOpener and give it a cozy two-minute hug on the right edge of the device.

Step 24
Take it easy with this step! Patience is key—make sure the adhesive is nice and toasty, and gently sneak a pick in to separate it all. If you need to pause and give it another heat-up, don’t hesitate!
If you’re feeling some serious pushback, it’s time to warm up those edges again and glide around them with an opening pick. Remember, slow and steady wins the race! If it’s still being stubborn, you can always schedule a repair.
– Gently twist the two opening picks at the left corners of your iPad to give the digitizer a little lift, while also saying goodbye to the last bits of adhesive. You’re doing great!
Step 26
– Hold the digitizer steady and slip an opening pick between the display cables to gently pry apart the last bit of adhesive. If you need help, you can always schedule a repair.
Step 27
– Once you’ve successfully separated all that sticky adhesive, gently open the digitizer like a book and lay it down parallel to your iPad. Easy peasy!
– When it’s time to put everything back together, grab some isopropyl alcohol and give the leftover adhesive on the frame—and the digitizer if you’re reusing it—a good clean. Then, stick on our
