Step 2

– Gently take out the three matching Phillips screws from the memory door—these little guys are important!

– Don’t forget to keep track of which screws came from where. It’ll make putting everything back together a breeze!

Step 6

– Unscrew the four fabulous Phillips screws chilling on the port side of your computer. Let’s get zesty!

Step 7

– Twist your device 90 degrees and unscrew the two Phillips screws hanging out at the back. Keep it cool and easy!

Step 8

– Twist that computer 90 degrees once more and get those four Phillips screws out from the side. You’re doing great!

Step 9

– Start by lifting the rear end of the case and wiggle your fingers along the sides to loosen it up. Keep moving around the edges until the sides feel loose. You might have to do a little dance—rocking the case up and down—to detach the front of the upper case. Hang in there; this part can be a bit of a challenge. Peek over the DVD reader, and you’ll find 4 sneaky tabs that pull out vertically.

– Heads up! The two small tabs on the front left of the upper case might get a bit out of shape during this operation. When you’re putting everything back together, you might have to straighten them out so they slide smoothly into their home slots in the lower case.

Step 10

– Unplug the trackpad and keyboard ribbon cables from the logic board, peeling off any tape that gets in the way.

– Lift off the upper case and set it aside.

Step 11

– Time to give the Bluetooth board a lift-off from its cozy slot next to the hard drive. Pop it out with a spudger and gently disconnect the Bluetooth antenna cable. Easy does it!
