Step 8

Step 9
Take it easy when removing the upper case! It’s connected to the logic board with a ribbon cable, so give it a gentle touch.
– Alright, let’s get started with this fun challenge! Lift up at the back of the case and slide your fingers along the sides, gently releasing the case as you go. Once you’ve freed the sides, you might have to rock the case up and down a bit to release the front of the upper case. This part can be a bit tricky, so take your time. Above the DVD reader, you’ll find 4 tabs set back that you can pull out vertically.
– Keep an eye out for the two small tabs on the left front of the upper case – they might bend as you remove it. When you put it back, you might need to gently bend them back to fit into the grooves in the lower case. It’s all part of the adventure!
Step 10
– Unplug the trackpad and keyboard ribbon cable from the logic board, removing any tape in your way.
– Take off the upper case.
Step 12
– Grab a spudger and show those black plastic flaps who’s boss by flipping them up to free the keyboard and backlight ribbon cables. You got this!
