How to Replace Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Battery – DIY Guide
Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 7 Steps
Is your Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 tablet playing hard to get and refusing to turn on, even after a good charge? Or maybe the battery is running out faster than a kid on a sugar rush? It sounds like it might be time for a battery swap! This guide will walk you through the steps to replace that battery and get your tablet back in action. Just a heads up: some images show a metal spudger, but we recommend using a heavy-duty spudger to keep those delicate circuits safe and sound. For more info on connectors, check out this page.
Step 1
Be careful not to break the plastic opening tool during this step – it’s fragile! If it does break, don’t worry, you can switch to the heavy duty spudger instead. If you need help, you can always schedule a repair
– Slide the plastic opening tool between the glass screen and the back cover, making sure the curved end is snugly under the glass. Gently nudge the back cover away from the glass screen.
– Make sure to lift the entire display from the body, not just the glass from the display. You might need to reach a bit deeper for a smooth removal.
– Keep working the plastic opening tool around the entire device screen to fully detach the back cover from the glass screen.
Step 2
If the screen isn’t budging from the back cover, don’t sweat it! Just give step 1 another go, and it should come apart just fine.
– Carefully nudge the screen upwards with your fingertip—easy does it!
Step 3
– Time to get started! Gently peel off the green tape covering the battery connector using your fingers.
Step 4
– Gently slide the flat end of your trusty heavy-duty spudger between the wires and under the battery connector. With a careful touch, lift the black battery connector upwards to gracefully disconnect it from the motherboard.

Step 5
– Carefully peel off that green tape holding down the three ribbon cables—your fingers are all you need for this part!
– Grab your trusty heavy-duty spudger and use the flat end to gently pop up the black tab securing the leftmost black ribbon cable. Give the same TLC to the gold ribbon and the other black ribbon cable—one by one, they’ll be free!
– Now, with a gentle touch, slide each of those three cables straight out of their connectors. No rush—steady hands win the day!
