How to Test a Mac Laptop Battery – DIY Guide
Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 5 Steps
Heads up, tech whiz! Make sure you’ve got your tools ready and your workspace clear. Let’s make this repair a smooth ride!
For this guide, we’re rocking coconutBattery version 3.7. If the UI gets a makeover in the future, I’ll spruce up this guide to match!
Step 1
– Snag a copy of CoconutBattery from the wild web! It’ll pop up in your default download spot.
Step 2
Guess what? coconutBattery is all set to go once you’ve downloaded it. No installation needed!
– CoconutBattery might be chilling in your Downloads folder, or wherever your apps like to hang out after you download them.
– Give that CoconutBattery app icon a snappy double-click to get the party started.
Step 4
Keep your battery chillin’ between 50-95° F. Any hotter and it might throw a tantrum!
– Keep your Mac notebook chillin’ within those sweet, sweet operating temps – Apple T/N
– If the design/full charge capacity or percentage seems off or MIA, you might need to swap out the battery, DC-In, or logic board. No worries though, you got this!
Step 5
Hey, steer clear of those knock-off chargers! They might save you a few bucks, but they can wreak havoc on your device, leading to costly fixes.
