iPad 5 Wi-Fi Front Facing Camera Replacement Guide
Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 44 Steps
Handle the battery blocker with care, like it’s a delicate piece of art!
Get ready to swap out that front-facing camera assembly, along with the ambient light sensor, in your iPad 5 Wi-Fi! Just a friendly reminder to handle the battery with care using a battery blocker. Those battery contacts can be a bit fragile, and we don’t want any irreversible damage to the logic board, right? If you decide to dive in without isolating the battery, steer clear of metal tools unless absolutely necessary (like for those pesky screws) to keep the battery and sensitive circuit components safe. And hey, if you find yourself in a pickle, you can always schedule a repair for some expert assistance!
Step 1
– Warm up an iOpener and give the left side of your gadget a cozy heat hug for a couple of minutes.
Tools Used
Step 2
– While you’re waiting for the adhesive to loosen, be aware of these spots that don’t appreciate a lot of prying:
Step 3
The next three steps introduce the Anti-Clamp, a nifty tool we’ve crafted to simplify your opening procedure. If you decide to go without the Anti-Clamp, no worries! Just jump ahead three steps for an alternative method.
– Give that blue handle a gentle tug back to release the Anti-Clamp’s arms—it’s like giving it a little hug!
– Slide something under your iPad so it sits nice and flat between the suction cups—think of it as a cozy bed for your device.
– Place the suction cups close to the center of the left edge—one on top and one on the bottom, like a perfect little sandwich.
– Keep the bottom of the Anti-Clamp steady and give a firm press down on the top cup to create some serious suction magic.
Step 4
– Give that blue handle a tug forward to get those arms locked in place.
– Now, give the handle a full spin clockwise—like a DJ spinning a record, 360 degrees—or just until you see those cups start to stretch.
– Keep an eye on those suction cups, making sure they’re sticking together like best buds. If they start to drift apart, ease up on them a bit and bring those arms back in line.
Step 5
– Hang tight for a minute to let the adhesive loosen up and make some space.
– If your screen isn’t heating up enough, feel free to grab a hair dryer and warm up the left side of your iPad.
– When the Anti-Clamp opens up a decent gap, slide an opening pick under the digitizer.
– Skip the next step.
Step 6
Got a cracked display? Cover it with clear packing tape to help the suction cup stick. If that doesn’t cut it, try using really strong tape instead. If you’re still having trouble, superglue the suction cup to the screen. If you need help, you can always schedule a repair.
– Once the screen feels warm to the touch, stick a suction handle onto the left side of the screen, getting it as close to the edge as you can.
– Gently lift the screen with the suction handle to create a little gap between the digitizer and the frame.
– Slide an opening pick into the gap between the digitizer and the frame.

Step 7
No need to fret if you spot the opening pick peeking through the digitizer—just gently pull it out. The LCD screen should be just fine, but be cautious of tacky adhesives!
– Pop in a second opening pick right where you made that gap.
– Gently slide the pick down towards the bottom-left corner of your device to break free the adhesive.
– Keep that pick in the bottom-left corner to stop the adhesive from sticking back together.
Step 8
– If the opening pick gets stuck in the adhesive, keep it rolling along the side of the iPad to continue separating the adhesive. If you need help, you can always schedule a repair.
Step 9
– Gently glide that opening pick up to the top-left corner of your device to loosen the adhesive.
– Leave that pick in the top-left to keep things from sticking back together.
Step 10
– Warm up an iOpener and gently apply it to the top edge of the device for a couple of minutes.

Step 11
– Gently glide the pick around the top-left corner of your device to break free that pesky adhesive!
Step 12
Steer clear of sliding the pick over the front camera; you wouldn’t want to put a scratch on that lens! Follow these steps to keep it safe and sound.
– Gently glide the opening pick along the top edge of your device, stopping just shy of the front camera. You’ve got this!
Step 13
– Gently pull the pick out until just the tip is snugly nestled between the digitizer and the frame.
– Slide that pick above the front camera like a pro to start breaking the adhesive’s hold.
– Keep the pick close to the right side of the front camera as you move on to the next step.
Step 15
– Warm up your iOpener and give it a cozy two-minute hug on the right edge of your device.

Step 16
– Swing that pick around the top-right corner of your device and loosen up that adhesive grip.
Step 17
Hey there! When you’re working on your device, just a heads up that the display cables are hanging out about halfway down from the iPad’s top edge. Remember to ease up when you’re sliding so you stop around three inches up from the bottom of the iPad. Happy fixing!
– Grab a fresh opening pick and glide it to the middle of the iPad’s right edge. If you need help, you can always schedule a repair
Step 18

– Keep the pick snug in the corner while you get ready for the next awesome step.
Step 20
– Go ahead and gently slip in a fresh opening pick into that little opening you just made at the bottom of the iPad.
– Now, smoothly glide the pick past the antenna, but remember to pause right before reaching the home button.
– Feel free to let the pick hang out to the left of the home button before moving forward.
Step 21
Just slide the pick in up to 1mm to keep the right antenna safe and sound.
– Gently slide an opening pick into the little gap you’ve just made.
– Carefully maneuver the pick under the home button and glide it towards the bottom-right corner, ensuring that only the tip is nestled between the digitizer and the frame.
Step 22
– Grab that pick and slide it right towards the home button, giving that bottom adhesive the gentle nudge it needs to part ways.
– Now, just chill and leave the pick to the right of the home button while you prepare for the next step!
Step 23
– Warm up your iOpener and give it a cozy two-minute hug on the right edge of your device.

Step 24
Take it easy with this step! Give yourself some time to make sure the adhesive is nice and toasty, and take your trusty pick to separate all that sticky stuff. And hey, if you need a moment, don’t hesitate to pause and reheat!
If you’re hitting some stubborn resistance, give the edges another reheat and keep working along them with your opening pick.
– Gently twist those two opening picks at the left corners of your iPad to give the digitizer a little lift, while also saying goodbye to the last bits of adhesive. You’ve got this!
Step 26
– While holding the digitizer for support, gently slip an opening pick in between the two display cables to separate the final traces of adhesive.
Step 27
– After successfully removing all the adhesive, gently open up the digitizer just like you would a book and lay it down flat, keeping it in line with your device.
– For the reassembly process, be sure to tidy up any leftover adhesive on both the frame and the digitizer using isopropyl alcohol. If you’re reusing the digitizer, go ahead and replace the old adhesive with our convenient
