Step 1

Before cracking open your laptop, double-check that it’s totally powered down. Safety first, always!

– Grab your trusty T5 Torx screwdriver, and unscrew the ten 3.3 mm screws holding down the base cover. Time to set those screws free!

Step 2

Be careful not to push the plastic opening tool too deep into your device!

– Use the plastic opening tool to shimmy your way between the base cover and the frame—think of it like opening a treasure chest!

– Work your way gently around the entire edge of the computer until all sides are free. Take your time—no need to rush greatness!

Step 3

– Take off the panel and stash it somewhere safe and sound.

Step 4

– Carefully unscrew the six 3.5 mm screws around the battery using a Phillips 00 screwdriver. You’ve got this!

Step 5

– Grab either your tweezers or your fingers and disconnect the black battery cable by gently pinching the sides of the connector and giving it a little pull towards the battery. Easy peasy!

Step 6

– Now it’s time to put your device back together—just retrace your steps like a pro!

– When it’s time to say goodbye to your old tech, make sure to drop it off at an R2 or e-Stewards certified recycler.
