Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 8 Hinge Replacement
Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 7 Steps
Step 1
– First, let’s get this repair party started by opening the kickstand – just press that release button in the center and you’re good to go!
– Next up, carefully remove the identification sticker with a pair of tweezers, which will give you access to the two 2mm screws hiding underneath. Easy peasy!

Step 2
The third 2mm screw to the right might be hiding behind a sneaky little S sticker. Just peel it off and you’re good to go!
– Get ready to unscrew! Use your trusty PH00 screwdriver to take out those three 2mm screws hiding under the kickstand. You’re doing great!
Step 3
As you detach the back from the device, keep an eye on that power button! It has a sneaky way of slipping out and making a break for it.
There’s a bit of sticky stuff hiding under the SD card slot, so take your time and gently work it loose. A little patience goes a long way!
– Kick things off by finding the edge that’s opposite the hinge. Gently slide a plastic opening tool between the screen and the backing to start popping those little clips loose that are keeping the backing in place.
– Keep working your way along the edge and up the sides, using that plastic opening tool to separate the clips as you go. You’ve got this!
Step 4
– Flip your tablet so it’s chilling with the screen facing down and the hinge away from you. Spot that black plastic piece hanging out in the top right corner.
– Grab your PH00 screwdriver and unscrew the 4mm screw up top and the 3mm screw down below.
Step 5
Watch out for those wires connecting the plastic block—let’s keep them intact, shall we?
The lock might be a bit stubborn, so don’t hesitate to give it a little extra oomph to set it free!
– Fold the kickstand to a nearly closed position. Gently shift the plastic block out of the way and use a metal spudger to pop the metal lock free.
Step 6
– Now it’s time to tackle the hinge. On the opposite end, you’ll find a silver metal bracket covering the wires. Use a PH00 screwdriver to remove the two 3mm screws, then gently lift the bracket off with your fingers.
– With the bracket out of the way, you’ll see two silver connectors at the end of the wires. Use tweezers to carefully pry them off – be gentle, we don’t want any accidents!
– Next up, locate the smaller metal wire bracket that’s guiding the wires. Remove the single black 2mm screw with your trusty PH00 screwdriver, then lift the bracket off with your fingers. Easy peasy!

Step 7
– Let’s get this hinge assembly out. Start by lifting it from the end with the lock, and carefully guide the wires through the hinge mount as you pull it free. It’s like a little wire dance – just take your time and you’ll be a pro in no time.
