LG G Pad 10.1 Battery Replacement
Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 7 Steps
Ready to pull out that tablet battery? This straightforward guide walks you through each step so you can get it done without any fuss.
Step 1
On some models, there's a sneaky little vertical strip of adhesive hiding between the battery and the back cover, just to the left of the Verizon logo. Take extra care when peeling it away—don't want to mess with the battery, right?
- Begin removing the back panel by gently sliding your plastic opening tool into the seam between the screen and the back of the tablet.
- If the case isn’t bending enough or is already cracked, try using opening picks to avoid causing more damage.
- Use your hands to carefully push on the device’s corners to widen the gap, making it easier to insert your plastic opening tool.
- When replacing a damaged screen, it can help to carefully chip away some of the glass to reveal the clips along the plastic edges.
- Start popping the panel loose by slipping the corners of your plastic opening tool into the slots along the outer edge of the device.
Step 2
- After you’ve loosened the edge of your device’s panel from the screen, keep working your way around the device, gently prying the two parts apart as you go.
Step 3
- Slide another plastic opening tool (or something similar) between the screen and the back panel on the opposite side of your device, and let it do its magic by keeping that gap open.
Step 4
- Gently slide the tip of a spudger under the white tabs on both sides of the battery connector and carefully lift to disconnect the battery.
Step 5
- Get ready to dive in! Start by unscrewing the twelve 4 mm Phillips #000 screws that are holding the battery in place around the edges. You've got this!
Step 6
- Gently pull the battery cable away from the motherboard by grabbing it firmly and lifting it upwards. You've got this!
Step 7
- To put your gadget back together, just take a trip down memory lane and follow these steps in reverse. You've got this! If you hit a snag, remember you can always schedule a repair.
