Get ready to rock out again! This step-by-step guide will walk you through replacing the headphone port, and have you jamming to your favorite tunes in no time.
Step 1
Power down the phone completely before diving in—trust us, it’s worth it!
– Pop off the rear cover of your LG G4 by sliding a plastic opening tool into the groove at the bottom-left corner and gently nudging it up.
Step 2
– Take your trusty plastic opening tool, wedge it gently along the bottom edge of the battery, and give it a little lift. Then, carefully grab that battery with your hands and set it free!
Step 3
– Take out the eleven 3.9 mm Phillips #00 screws hanging out on the back of your phone. You’re on your way to unlocking magic—keep it rolling!
Step 4
– After you’ve unscrewed all those tiny fasteners, grab your trusty plastic opening tool, wedge it into the lower left corner, and give it a confident lift to pop that cover open.
– Once it’s loosened, use your fingers to carefully detach the cover and set it aside.
Step 5
This step will help you pop out the motherboard, giving you a clear path to access that pesky headphone port.
– Slide that trusty plastic opening tool under the ribbons where those three cables are chillin’. Give ’em a gentle lift to pop each one loose, like you’re opening a secret snack stash.
Step 6
– Time to get hands-on! Carefully lift the motherboard out using your trusty plastic opening tool and a little finger power.
Step 7
The headphone port sticks in place thanks to some seriously clingy adhesive, so roll up your sleeves—it might take a bit of elbow grease to pry it loose. Don’t sweat it, you’ve got this!
– To wrap things up, simply reverse the steps you followed to take your device apart. Easy peasy!
