Get ready to tackle the world of RAM removal for your Macintosh PowerBook 1400c! This guide is here to walk you through the steps with ease and a sprinkle of fun. If you find yourself in a pickle, remember, you can always schedule a repair for some expert assistance!

Step 1

– Flip your device over and find the battery latch hanging out near the front. You’re almost there!

Step 2

– Give that latch a gentle slide to the left to set the battery free!

Step 3

– Keep holding onto that latch and then gently tug the battery out of the device. If you need help, you can always schedule a repair.

Step 4

– Find the latch on your CD-ROM Drive.

Step 5

– Gently slide the latch to the right to pop out the CD ROM drive.

Step 6

– Keep holding onto that latch and with a gentle touch, ease the CD-ROM Drive out of the device. You’ve got this!

Step 7

– Find the speaker cover, it’s waiting for you!

Step 8

– Give a good press on both ends of the speaker cover and slide it to the left like you mean it!

Step 9

– Carefully pop off the speaker cover to take it off. If you need help, you can always schedule a repair

Step 10

– Gently lift the keyboard up from the back using a spudger (wedge side).

– Carefully lift the keyboard until just the ribbon cable is still holding on. You’ve got this!

Step 12

– Angle the keyboard away from the screen.

Step 13

– Find those six screws holding the heatsink in place like they’re on a treasure hunt!

Step 14

– Unscrew those six pesky screws from the heatsink with your trusty Philips #1 screwdriver and let’s keep the momentum going!

Step 15

– Gently lift the heatsink from the side that’s closest to the laptop screen. If you need help, you can always schedule a repair.

Step 16

– Take off that heatsink like a pro! It’s time to clear the way for some serious fixes. You got this!

Step 17

– Carefully lift the beige ribbon lock until it shifts slightly on both sides to release the ribbon cable from the connector.

Step 18

– Unplug the ribbon cable with care.

Step 19

– Take off the keyboard.

Step 20

– Locate the RAM memory stick

Step 21

– Give the RAM a gentle grab at the far end as shown in the picture, then pull it up and away from the right side of your computer. If you need help, you can always schedule a repair.

Step 22

– Take out the RAM stick that can be upgraded

Step 23

– Carefully hold the RAM by its edges, just like in the picture, and gently lift it straight up for a smooth removal.

– Pop out that pre-installed RAM module with ease
