MaxWest TAB-7360DC Battery Replacement
Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 5 Steps
Step 1
– Let’s get started by inserting the plastic opening tool at the corner of the screen, right between the back case and the front. This is where the magic happens!
– Keep in mind that the volume buttons will fall out during removal, so don’t be surprised when they make a break for it.
– Now, carefully open up the case with the I/O ports facing you and the back case turned towards the right. Be gentle, as there’s a short wire connecting the speaker to the logic board that you’ll want to keep intact.
Step 2
– Alright, let’s get to it! Carefully peel off the tape from the battery, the bottom-left chip, and the ribbon cable near the bottom-right of the board. Be extra gentle with that little silver square component on the bottom left—it needs to be unclipped and untaped, so treat it like a delicate treasure.
– The battery is stuck to the back of the screen with some serious adhesive, so go in with caution. Give it a steady pull to separate it, and expect a little resistance—that’s normal! Just stay patient, and you’ll have it free in no time.
Step 3
– Carefully pop off the data cable retainers and detach the wires from their connectors.
– Gently peel back the tape from the wire located at the bottom of the case.
Step 4
– Grab your 00 Phillips head driver and take out the two 4mm screws (look for the ones circled in orange). Nice and easy!
– Next, unclip the black plastic retainer near the data port. With that done, the PCB should lift off without much resistance.
Step 5
Avoid touching both the black and red leads with the soldering iron at the same time. It’s a quick way to make things go wrong, and we’re here to keep things on track!
– Now it’s time to put your device back together! Just retrace your steps in reverse, and you’ll be all set.
