MaxWest TAB-7360DC Motherboard Replacement
Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 6 Steps
Step 1
– Slide a plastic opening tool into the corner gap between the front of the screen and the back cover.
– Heads up: the volume buttons will drop out when you take the case apart.
– When you open the case, make sure the I/O ports are facing you. Swing the back case to the right—there’s a short wire linking the speaker to the logic board, so go slow and steady.
Step 2
– Time to get this repair started! Carefully pry the tape away from the battery, the chip at the bottom left, and the ribbon cable near the bottom-right of the board. Don’t forget the little silver square component at the bottom left – it needs to be unclipped and freed from the tape too.
– Next, gently pull the battery away from the back of the screen. It’s glued on pretty tight, so be patient and work it loose. You’ll feel some resistance, but that’s totally normal. Just take your time and it’ll come off in one piece.
Step 3
– Carefully pop off the data cable clips and disconnect those wires from their spots.
– Remove the tape from the wire located near the bottom of the case.
Step 4
– First, let’s get started by removing the two tiny 4mm screws – they’re circled in orange, so you can’t miss ’em! Use a 00 Phillips head driver to get the job done.
– Next up, gently unclip the black plastic retainer near the data port. This will allow you to carefully pull the PCB off, and you’ll be one step closer to fixing your device. If you’re not feeling confident, don’t worry – you can always schedule a repair with Salvation Repair.
Step 5
KEEP YOUR FINGERS AWAY FROM BOTH THE BLACK AND RED LEADS AT THE SAME TIME WHEN USING THE SOLDERING IRON! SAFETY FIRST, ALL RIGHT?
– Gently touch the hot tip of your soldering iron to the battery terminals for a few seconds, then smoothly pull the wire away. Keep it steady and have fun with it!
