Nvidia Shield Tablet K1 Speaker Replacement
Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 7 Steps
The Nvidia Shield K1 Tablet comes equipped with front-facing speakers that can be swapped out if they’re acting up or have taken a beating.
Step 1
– Start at the Micro SD Card Slot, grab your trusty blue plastic opening tool, and gently work it around the edges. Apply just enough pressure to lift the panel upwards—easy does it!
Step 2
– Time to get started! You’ll need to apply a bit of force to release the clips holding the back panel in place. Don’t worry, it’s easier than it sounds – just gently pry the panel off.
– Keep lifting the panel all the way around the edges of the tablet. It’s like opening a clamshell, and you’re almost there!
– Once all the panel clips are unfastened, you can carefully remove the back panel. You’re making great progress!
Step 3
Hey, be gentle when peeling off those two pieces of tape – there are wires hiding underneath! Lift with care to avoid accidentally yanking them out.
– Using the black plastic spudger tool, gently lift the tape with your fingers while keeping the wires in place with the tool. Take your time and stay steady. You’ve got this!

Step 4
The audio input film hides under the foam piece and is pretty delicate. Take it easy and go slow while removing it.
No need to yank the foam piece all the way out—just loosen it up enough so the audio input film can slide out smoothly without a fight.
– Gently lift the black foam piece located near the WIFI antenna to uncover the audio input film.
Step 5
– Gently detach those super-thin audio input ribbons from each speaker’s ZIF (zero insertion force) connectors. You’re looking for those lightweight ribbons with the orange stripes. Cool, right?
– Lift up the white latch on the ZIF connector—it’s like opening a little gate. This lets you slide the ribbon out easily using some trusty tweezers.
– Rinse and repeat for both speakers. You’re killing it!

Step 6
– Alright, first up—detach those power cables connecting the speakers to the battery. They’re the sleek black wires with shiny gold tips—fancy, right?
– Grab your trusty tweezers and gently coax them out of their spots. They should pop right off with a little finesse. Easy does it!
– Now, here’s the deal: there are three black wires in total, but only two are speaker-related. Follow the wire trails carefully to confirm they’re connecting to the speakers. We’ve got this!

Step 7
Each screw measures approximately 30 mm in length and 30 mm in diameter.
– Let’s get those speakers freed up! Start by removing the screws that hold them in place. You’ll need to grab your trusty J000 Phillips-head screwdriver to get the job done.
Success!
