Polar M400 Watch USB Replacement Guide
Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 4 Steps
Is your Polar M400 refusing to charge? Maybe the micro-USB connector has seen better days? And let’s face it, you don’t want to fork out 20€ (+ shipping) for a replacement from Polar, right? Not afraid of a little soldering and heat gun action? Then you’re in the right place!
Step 2
– Grab yourself a trusty helping hand tool to keep the USB connector steady—it’s like having an extra set of hands!
– Fire up your heat gun and aim it underneath the PCB, letting that warm air work its magic.
– Once the solder starts to melt, give the connector a solid tap and watch the PCB pop loose like a pro.

Step 3
– Set the new USB connector down on a flat surface, making sure its pins are pointing up like little soldiers ready for action.
– Carefully place the PCB right on top of those pins, ensuring the shiny copper traces on the flex PCB are facing down towards the flat surface.
– Grab your soldering iron and get to work! Heat up all the pads at once (as best as you can) while applying a bit of pressure, so those USB connector pins can pop through like they own the place.
Step 4
– Now, simply follow these steps in reverse to put your device back together.
– Oops, didn’t quite finish? No worries, just hit cancel!
– If you’re feeling unsure or need a hand, you can always schedule a repair.
Success!
