Repairing Black Display on an Asus Transformer TF101
Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 3 Steps
Got a TF101 with a blank screen? No worries! The fix is pretty straightforward: just pop open the case and reconnect the display cable. Quick tip: after you finish the steps, peel off a small piece of tape from the display connector and press it firmly into place. I used some super sticky red construction tape to secure it, but tape choice is up to you. If things get tricky, you can always schedule a repair. Good luck and happy fixing!
Step 1
- Alright, let’s kick things off by unscrewing two small Torx screws at the bottom. I can’t tell you the exact size since I just grabbed a Torx screwdriver that happened to fit, but as long as it works, we’re good to go!
Step 2
- I used a metal opening tool to gently pry the bezel away from the front of the device. Once I got a small gap, it was pretty simple to slide my finger in and work my way around. A little patience and the bezel popped right off!
Step 3
- Now it's time to put everything back together! Just follow these steps in reverse, and you'll be all set. If you run into any trouble, don't hesitate to schedule a repair for a helping hand.
