Replace Samsung Galaxy S8 Front Facing Camera: Step-by-Step Tutorial
Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 18 Steps
Hey there! Before getting to work, make sure to let your battery relax a bit below 25% power. A punctured battery could cause a bit of a scene, but no worries! Discharging it lowers the odds of any fireworks. 😊
Get ready to rock ‘n’ roll with this awesome Samsung Galaxy S8 camera repair! Make sure to lower the battery power first to avoid any surprises, and don’t forget to get some new adhesive, ’cause that back cover isn’t gonna stick itself. If you need help, you can always schedule a repair.
Step 1
We suggest giving your microwave a little scrub before diving in. Any pesky residue hanging out at the bottom might just cling to your iOpener, and nobody wants that!
– Pop that iOpener right in the middle of the microwave!

Step 2
Buddy, be on the lookout for any signs of overheating while workin’ on your trusty tech. Give the iOpener a pass if it’s bulging! If it’s too hot to handle, hang tight and let it cool down. It’ll keep its warm vibes for about 10 minutes.
– Give your iOpener a warm hug in the microwave for thirty seconds. It’s like a cozy spa day but for your repair tools!
– During this repair adventure, if your iOpener starts to cool down, simply pop it back in the microwave for another thirty seconds to keep the good vibes going.

Step 3
Be careful with the iOpener; it can get pretty toasty! Use an oven mitt if you need to keep those fingers safe.
– Time to work your magic! Take out the iOpener from the microwave with a cool grip on one of its flat ends. No burnt fingers on our watch!

Step 4
Don’t have a microwave on hand? No problem! Simply follow this step to warm up your iOpener in boiling water.
– Get a pot or pan and fill it up with enough water so your iOpener can take a dip.
– Turn the heat up until the water is nice and bubbly, then give it a rest.
– Dunk your iOpener into the hot tub for about 2-3 minutes, ensuring it’s all in.
– With the help of some trusty tongs, take your now-toasty iOpener out of the water.
– Give your iOpener a good dry-off with a cozy towel.
– Your iOpener is now good to go! If you ever need to warm it up again, get that water boiling, turn off the heat, and let your iOpener soak for 2-3 minutes.

Step 5
Feel like getting crafty? Grab a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate to take on this step. Just remember not to go overboard with the heat—your phone’s precious OLED display and internal battery will thank you!
Opening your phone? Just a heads up, you might mess with those waterproof seals! Make sure you’ve got some replacement adhesive handy before diving in, or be extra careful to keep things dry when you put it back together without replacing the adhesive.
While the adhesive is getting cozy and soft, why not jump ahead and check out the next step? It’ll give you a sneak peek on where to pry!
– Warm up your trusty iOpener and press it against one of the longer edges of the S8 for about 2 minutes. You’ve got this!

Step 6
– Get ready to tackle that rear glass panel! First up, we’ll be slicing through the adhesive that hugs its edges.
– The adhesive on the rear case is laid out just like you see in the first image—easy peasy!
– When it comes to prying, here’s the pattern you’ll follow from the outside of the phone:
Step 7
– Alrighty, now get ready for a fun challenge! First, keep an eye out for that sensitive spot on the back panel where your heat worked its magic. When you find it, bring in that trusty suction cup, but don’t forget – those curved edges are off-limits! 😄 Now, gently lift that suction cup and watch as your opening pick slides effortlessly under the magical rear glass. Onward to victory, brave tech hero!
Step 9
Take it nice and easy to prevent any slip-ups. If you find it tough going, heat things up again and give it another shot with the iOpener.
– Gently slide the opening pick down the side of your phone to break free the adhesive. You’re doing great!

Step 10
– Time to show off those cutting skills once more! Repeat the heating and cutting magic on the remaining three sides of your device.
– Don’t forget to leave a trusty opening pick on each side as you move along to the next one. This will keep that pesky adhesive from trying to reseal itself.
Step 11
As you gently lift the glass, take a quick peek to make sure that orange cable with the blue connector has let go. We don’t want any surprises!
If the fingerprint sensor cable looks like it’s playing a game of tug-of-war and stays tight, hold on a sec! Don’t push your luck by opening the phone any further. Use the point of a spudger to gently disconnect the connector before moving on.
The magical fingerprint sensor cable links your phone to the rear glass right by the main camera. This cable is super short and will make a quick exit once you remove the rear glass.
– Grab those opening picks and gently slice through any stubborn adhesive to pop the phone open just a bit.
– When it’s time to put things back together, angle the back cover just right so the fingerprint sensor cable can find its home. Then, with the flat end of your trusty spudger, give that connector a gentle push straight down to snap it into place.
– Carefully lift the glass off the phone and set it aside.

Step 12
If you’re feeling adventurous, go ahead and pop that back cover on without swapping out the adhesive. Just make sure to clear away any big adhesive bits that could keep the back cover from sitting nicely. Once it’s on, give it a little heat and a gentle press to make sure it sticks. It might not be waterproof, but trust us, that glue will do the job just fine!
