Samsung Galaxy S One Micro USB Port Replacement Guide
Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 8 Steps
Heads up! The S2 comes in a few different flavors, but don’t sweat it—this guide is your trusty sidekick for both the international and local versions!
Is your phone refusing to charge? Or does the battery plummet faster than a skydiver? It might just be a loose connection or a wonky port waving a white flag. Swapping it out could be your golden ticket to battery bliss! This guide’s got your back for various S2 models, whether it’s from your local store or halfway across the globe.
Step 1
– 1. Pop off the back cover and yank out the battery. It’s time to free your device from its power source!
– 2. Eject the SD card and the SIM card (if they’re hanging around in there).
Step 2
– Grab your Phillips screwdriver and get ready to twist out those 7 Phillips head screws, just like in the picture. Let’s make this gadget feel brand new!
Step 3
Watch out! The volume rocker and power button housing tend to go on little adventures when you remove the back housing. Tuck them somewhere safe so they don’t wander off!
– Glide your plastic tool around the phone’s edge, snapping those clips like a pro.
Step 4
– Unscrew the two sly black Phillips head screws playing hide and seek—one chilling at the top left and the other lounging at the bottom right of the logic board.
Step 5
– Unplug all those push connectors and the antenna cable with a gentle tug, just like the cool move shown on the left.
Step 6
– Lean the motherboard on the phone’s side and then enthusiastically remove the power button board right by the top of that funky antenna wire.
– Unscrew the 2 Phillips head screws chilling at the bottom of the charging board.
Hey there! Be extra careful with some models that sport a ribbon flex button glued to the side of the phone instead of being mounted directly on the board. To safely detach it, just gently coax it free with a thin spudger. Take it slow—those ribbons are super delicate, and a tear could mean your phone might not turn on. Keep it cool, you’ve got this!
Step 7
A hair dryer might just be your new best friend when tackling that stubborn adhesive, but hey, it’s totally optional!
– Start by popping off one end of the board and shimmy your way to the other. You got this!
Step 8
– Swap out that old board for a shiny new one!
