Samsung Galaxy S10 Loudspeaker Replacement

Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 14 Steps

Get ready to tackle the loudspeaker removal in your Samsung Galaxy S10! In this model, the loudspeaker is snugly nestled in the lower midframe. The trickiest part? Getting that back cover off. But don’t worry, you’ve got this! If you need help, you can always schedule a repair.

Step 1

– Alright, let’s get this show on the road! First things first, power down your phone and unplug it. Safety first, right?

– Grab an iOpener and heat up the back cover’s right edge for a couple of minutes. Get it nice and toasty!

– While you’re waiting, take a peek at the picture of the removed back cover. See that adhesive? Keep it in mind. It’s important!

Step 2

– Get ready to give that phone a little love! Find something about 0.5 inches thick (like a thick book) and gently rest the heated right edge of your phone on it. This angle will help us get in there.

– Now, hold the left edge of the phone steady with your fingers – don’t let it slip! Grab that suction cup and pull gently but firmly.

– Time to get our tool in the game! Carefully press the edge of an opening tool into the seam between the back cover and the frame.

– Keep that tool moving! Slide it back and forth along the seam to loosen up that back cover. We’re almost there!

Step 3

– Warm up that iOpener and stick it on the same edge of your phone for a solid two minutes.

– Grab a suction cup and place it on the back of the phone, aiming for the center of the right edge where the adhesive is at its thinnest.

– Give that suction cup a good, steady pull to create a little gap between the back cover and the frame.

– Slide the tip of an opening pick into that gap you just made.

– If you’re struggling to create a gap, it might mean the adhesive isn’t quite ready. Make sure you’ve heated the edge until it’s just about too hot to touch, and give it another go.

– For an extra boost, you can drop a few drops of high concentration (over 90%) isopropyl alcohol into the seam to help loosen that stubborn adhesive.

Step 4

– Let’s get this party started! Slide the opening pick along the edge of the phone, like you’re slicing through butter (but, you know, with a pick).

– Keep that pick in the seam to prevent the adhesive from sticking back together. We don’t want to give it a second chance!

Step 5

– Let’s get started by applying a heated iOpener to the bottom edge of the phone for about two minutes – this will help loosen things up.

– Next, carefully insert an opening pick into the right edge near the bottom right corner. Take your time, you got this!

– Now, gently slide the pick around the corner, working your way along the bottom edge and around the bottom left corner. Remember to be patient and take it one step at a time.

– As you make progress, leave an opening pick in the seam to prevent the adhesive from re-sealing. If you need help or get stuck, don’t worry – you can always schedule a repair with the experts at Salvation Repair.

Step 6

– Keep the heat flowing and gently glide your tool around the rest of the phone’s edges. You’re doing great!

Step 7

– Alright, champ, let’s get this phone peeled open! Carefully slice around the phone’s edges. Then, take a trusty opening pick and twist it into one of those edges to start separating the back cover from the frame.

– Now, gently lift the back cover off. If any stubborn adhesive is hanging on, use those opening picks to help it along.

– Sweet! The back cover is off.

– Before you start putting everything back together, let’s make sure everything’s in tip-top shape. Power up your phone and give it a quick test run. Make sure all the bells and whistles are working. Once you’re happy, power it down again and we’ll keep going.

– To put everything back together, you can follow this guide for reinstalling the back cover, transferring and installing the camera bezel, and replacing the adhesive.

Step 8

– Unscrew those eight 4 mm Phillips screws holding the top midframe to your phone. You’ve got this!

Step 9

– Alright, let’s get this midframe party started! It’s still hanging on by a few plastic clips around the edges.

– Grab your trusty spudger and gently slide the tip into the notch on the right edge of the midframe, right near the volume up button.

– Now, give it a little pry to loosen up the midframe. We’re almost there!

Step 10

– Grab hold of the midframe by the top corners and carefully lift it off the phone.

– Now, let’s put that midframe back where it belongs!

– Line up the top edge of the midframe with the phone and gently set it down.

– Use your fingers to press around the edges of the midframe, making sure those clips snap back into place. You’ll know it’s good when the edges sit nice and flush against the phone. If you need help, you can always schedule a repair

Step 11

– Alright, let’s get this battery out! Take your trusty spudger and gently slide the flat end underneath the battery connector. It’s hanging out below the rear-facing camera, right on the motherboard.

– Now, give that connector a little pry upwards. We’re gonna disconnect it from its socket, so we can work our magic.

– And last but not least, give the battery’s flex cable a little nudge. We want to make sure it’s out of the way of the motherboard socket. No accidental contact here, folks! 😉

Step 12

– Let’s get those seven 4 mm Phillips screws out of the lower midframe! Grab your trusty screwdriver and give them a twist to set your device free.

Step 13

– Gently slide the tip of your trusty spudger under the top right corner of the lower midframe.

– Give it a little pry to set the midframe free from the phone!

Step 14

– Grab the loose end of the midframe and give it a gentle lift. It’s like you’re helping it take a little break!

– Give the midframe a little wiggle, just enough to free those pesky edge clips.

– And there you have it! The lower midframe is out. The loudspeaker is hiding in there, so be careful not to drop it. If you need help with this step, you can always schedule a repair.
