Ready to give your Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus a little TLC? This guide is here to help you swap out that pesky damaged NFC antenna and charging coil assembly. We’ll be working with the SM-G996B/DS (international) model, but if you’ve got a different one, just a heads up that you might find an extra antenna cable lurking in the midframe. Remember, if you skip the adhesive seals when putting everything back together, your device will still work like a champ, but it might lose some of its water resistance. So, be sure to grab some replacement adhesive to keep everything snug when reassembling. If you need help, you can always schedule a repair.
Step 1
– Get your iOpener ready and apply it to the back cover for a good three minutes. This will help loosen up the adhesive underneath, making the next steps a breeze!

Step 2
– First things first, grab a suction handle and stick it to the bottom edge of the back cover, keeping it nice and close to the edge!
– Now, give that back cover a gentle lift using the suction handle – we want just enough space to wiggle in a tool.
– Slide an opening pick into that little gap you’ve just made.
– Carefully glide the opening pick towards the bottom left corner to cut through the adhesive like a pro.
– Once you’ve sliced through, leave the opening pick in there to keep the adhesive from sticking back!

Step 3
– Ready for some precision slicing action? Let’s start by popping in a second opening pick at the bottom edge of your device.
– Glide that pick over to the bottom right corner to gracefully cut through the adhesive like a pro.
– Keep those picks in position so the adhesive doesn’t sneakily stick back together. You’ve got this!
Step 4
Oh no! Is the adhesive giving you a tough time? It might have gotten a bit chilly. Just pop your iOpener in the microwave for a couple of minutes to warm it up again.
– Pop in a third opening pick at the bottom right corner of your phone. You’ve got this!
– Gently slide that pick along the right edge of your phone to cut through the adhesive like a pro.
– Keep the opening pick snugly in the top right corner to stop the adhesive from getting all clingy again.

Step 5
When you’re getting up close and personal with the camera assembly, just gently slide in the tip of that opening pick (about 4-5 mm) to keep the camera safe and sound. We want to avoid any accidental damage or smudges on that precious lens!
– Sneak in a cool fourth opening pick beneath the top right corner of your phone.
– Glide the opening pick along the top edge to smoothly slice through the adhesive.
– Leave the opening pick hanging out in the top left corner to stop the adhesive from getting any sealing ideas.
Step 6
– Alright, let’s bring out our inner phone app-lympian and work on that corner. Carefully slide your pick under the bottom left edge, and just like that, we’re making progress! We’ve got this, drill team!
Step 8
Hey there! Just a friendly reminder to avoid poking or bending that battery with your tool—messing with it could lead to some unwanted chemical spills or a bit of a firework show.
Watch out for the cable hiding beneath the charging coil! Take it easy, and if your pick gets caught, just pause and give it a moment before you keep sliding.
– Slide an opening pick under the bottom left corner of the NFC antenna and charging coil assembly. You’re on your way!
– Gently glide that opening pick along the bottom left edge of the assembly to free it from the battery. You’re doing great!
Step 9
– Slide an opening pick gently under the bottom edge of the NFC antenna and charging coil assembly.
– Carefully glide the opening pick along the bottom of the assembly to detach it from the loudspeaker.
Step 10
