Step 4

– Grab a pot or pan and fill it up with enough water to give your iOpener a nice, cozy bath.

– Turn up the heat and bring that water to a rolling boil. Once it’s bubbling away, go ahead and turn off the heat.

– Carefully drop your iOpener into the hot water and let it soak for 2-3 minutes. Just make sure it’s completely submerged; it deserves a good dip!

– Using some tongs (safety first, right?), fish out the heated iOpener from the water.

– Give the iOpener a thorough drying with a towel. We want it nice and dry for its next adventure!

– And there you have it—your iOpener is now ready for action! If it needs a little more warmth later, just repeat the steps: heat the water to a boil, switch off the heat, and let it relax in the water for another 2-3 minutes.

Step 6

– Let’s dive into the fun part! First up, we’ll be carefully slicing through the sticky adhesive that hugs the edges of the rear glass panel.

– Take a peek at the first image to see how the adhesive is arranged on the rear case—it’s got a bit of a pattern going on!

– Check out the prying guide from the outside of the phone; here’s how it goes:

Step 7

– Warm up that back panel until it feels like a cozy hug, then stick a suction cup near the hot spot of the device while steering clear of the curvy bits.

– Give that suction cup a gentle lift and slide an opening pick beneath the back glass with a touch of finesse.

Step 8

– After you’ve snugly placed the tool into the glass, warm things up again and give the iOpener another go to loosen that pesky adhesive.

Step 9

– Now it’s time to get this phone opened up – slide the opening pick down the side, gently breaking the adhesive seal. If you need help, you can always schedule a repair

Step 10

– Now, let’s keep that momentum going! Just like before, heat things up and slice away on the next three sides of your phone.

– Don’t forget to tuck an opening pick into each side as you go along to keep the adhesive from sticking back together. You’ve got this!

Step 11

– Grab those opening picks and gently slice through any leftover adhesive to get the phone open just a tad.

– When it’s time to put everything back together, tilt the back cover into place so the fingerprint sensor cable aligns perfectly with its connector. Then, take the flat end of your spudger and give that connector a gentle press straight down to snap it in securely.

– Carefully remove the glass from the phone.

Step 12

– Alright, time to jazz things up with a new back cover:

– Just follow this easy-peasy guide to pop on that old back cover like a breeze, or stick on a fresh one with no adhesive.

– You might also have to shift the camera bezel over to your new part. If that’s the case, check out our cool camera bezel replacement guide.

Step 13

– Got a new rear glass panel? Awesome! Just don’t forget to move the fingerprint sensor over to your shiny new panel like this:

– If that sensor is being a bit clingy, no worries! Just slide an opening pick gently under the plastic backing to help loosen the adhesive before giving it a little push.

Step 14

– After removing that old sticky stuff, give those fingerprint sensor edges a good cleaning with some strong alcohol (90% or more). Then, slap on some fresh adhesive and you’ll be good to go! If you need help, you can always schedule a repair.
