Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 6 Steps
Ready to tackle that shattered tablet screen? This guide will walk you through how to expertly remove the screen when it’s broken or cracked. Let’s get to it!
Step 1
– First things first, peel off that screen protector and the screen from your tablet.
– Now, grab a trusty plastic opening tool and slide it between the screen protector and the display.
– With a little leverage magic, glide the tool around the entire front of the tablet to detach the sticky bits.
– Keep at it until you hear that satisfying pop, signaling the top screen protector is free!
Step 2
Check out that screen! It’s hanging out with a ribbon cable in the lower left corner, just like the picture shows (highlighted area, you can’t miss it!).
Before diving deeper, we need to take off the back cover of the device. Let’s get that open!
Step 3
Pop off the back cover to reveal the motherboard and get ready for some serious tech magic!
– Grab your trusty 000 Philip’s screwdriver and gently unscrew the 3.547 mm long screw hanging out at the bottom of your tablet. You’ve got this!
Step 4
– With a steady hand, glide that cover away from the ports, following the arrow’s lead. Just a firm push, and you’ll have the back cover off in no time!
Step 5
Now you’ll be able to access and remove the ribbon cables that are getting in the way of taking off the screen. This is a big step forward in your repair journey!
– Peel off the tape that’s covering the spot where the ribbon cable (the one that connects to the front of the screen) plugs into the back of the device.
Step 6
– To get your device back in action, simply reverse the steps you followed to take it apart.
– You’re almost done! If you need help or want to leave the repair to the pros, you can always schedule a repair.
