Step-by-Step Guide: Nike SportWatch GPS Front Panel Replacement
Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 6 Steps
In this guide, we’ll be replacing the front panel of your watch! Get ready to dive in as we take it apart completely and use a handy heating device to make removing the screen a breeze. Let’s get started and give your watch a fresh new look!
Step 1
– Flip the watch over so the back is facing up. Grab your trusty size #000 Phillips head screwdriver and unscrew those six 5 mm long screws on the back. You’ve got this!
Step 2
– Gently pull the band away from the main board to carefully separate the watch. Take your time here, no rush!
Step 3
– Up at the top of the main board, you’ll spot a couple of tiny #000 screws, each 2.5 mm long. Grab your trusty size 000 Phillips head screwdriver and get those little guys unscrewed. Nice and easy!
Step 4
Handle with care—treat that ribbon cable connecting to the band like it’s made of glass. It’s super delicate and not removable.
– Grab the blue plastic opening tool and gently pop the main board out from the front panel.
Step 5
Not sure how to use this tool? No worries! You can check out a guide for the iOpener here and get a better feel for it. If you’re still unsure, feel free to schedule a repair.
– Grab your trusty iOpener and give it a quick spin in the microwave for about a minute, or until it’s nice and toasty. Once it’s warmed up, place it on the front screen of your watch. Now just let it chill there for a minute!
