T-Mobile SDA (HTC Tornado) Rear Phone Casing Replacement

Got a cracked or damaged rear phone casing? No worries, we’ve got your back! This guide will help you swap out that busted casing with ease, so your phone can look as good as new. If you run into any trouble, feel free to schedule a repair!
Step 1
– First things first, flip that phone over so the keypad is on the bottom side. We’re getting cozy with the battery cover!
– Now, with one hand holding the phone steady, use your other thumb to gently press down at the top of the battery cover.
– Give it a little slide toward the bottom of the phone, and just like that, the battery cover is off!
Step 2
– Alright, let’s kick things off! To get that battery out, start by pinching it gently with a finger on each side.
– Now, while holding the phone steady with your other hand, give the battery a little lift upwards.
– Carefully wiggle it free and set the battery aside like a pro!
Step 3
– Gently move the battery and cover to the side and grab your phone—let’s get started!
– Grab your trusty plastic opening tool and carefully remove the camera casing from the top of the phone.
– Now, use your fingers to gently pull out the gray antenna casing. It should slide right out!
Step 4
– Grip your phone firmly with one hand while holding the plastic opening tool in the other. Ready to get started?
– Gently wedge the plastic opening tool between the casing and the phone, working around to gently pop the tabs loose. Patience is key!
– Once the outer shell is free, set it aside carefully and keep it somewhere safe for reassembly.
Step 5
– Grab your T5 or T6 screwdriver and unscrew those six screws on the back of the phone, just like in the first image. Next, gently pry open the back cover using a plastic opening tool—slide it around the edge to pop the tabs loose. Once the tabs are free, carefully pull the back off from the front half of the phone. If you need help, you can always schedule a repair.
