Xbox One Headset Repair Guide

Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 5 Steps

The circuit board in the headset adapter is like the brains of the operation, making sure those buttons on the adapter talk to the controller and the headset. If things aren’t working right, the circuit board might be the culprit! It’s got two parts that are connected with wires. So, let’s get this fixed up!

Step 1

– Let’s get this party started by sliding the flat edge of a metal spudger into the crack between the adapter body and the plastic casing. We’re gonna move that spudger towards one of the corners, like a little dance move.

– Now, push down on that spudger to separate the casing from the adapter. You’ll hear a satisfying click when the casing pops open on that side.

– Repeat the dance moves on the other side, and the casing will come right off!

– When putting everything back together, make sure the headphone jack on the back of the adapter body lines up with the hole in the casing. Then, align the tabs on the bottom of the casing with the holes in the adapter body. It’s like a puzzle, but way more fun.

Step 2

– Start by popping out those three 5.0 mm T5 Security Torx screws around the edges of the controller housing. They’re just waiting to be freed!

– Next up, tackle the two 8.0 mm T5 Security Torx screws located near the top-center of the adapter. They won’t stand a chance against you!

Step 3

– Now, get your fingers ready for some gentle action! Carefully lift the adapter housing away from the button panel. You’re doing great!

Step 4

– Gently pull back on the controller USB connector to release the main adapter circuit board from the rubber mold in the button panel. Take your time and be careful not to force it, as you want to avoid damaging any of the components.

Step 5

– Alright, let’s loosen up those screws! Take your trusty Phillips #00 screwdriver and give those two 5.5 mm screws holding the smaller circuit board to the adapter housing a little spin. They should come right out, and the smaller circuit board should pop off with ease. If you need help, you can always schedule a repair
