Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 6 Steps
Get ready to breathe new life into your Xbox One X model 1787 by replacing the upper plastic case. Whether you’re swapping out a broken case or giving your console a fresh custom look, this step-by-step guide has got you covered. Start by powering down your console and unplugging all cables – we’re about to get this repair party started!
Step 1
Hey there! Before you dive into this guide, let’s keep things safe and sound. First off, power down that device! Once it’s off, go ahead and unplug any cables connected to the console. You’re doing great!
– Grab some blunt tweezers and gently lift that sticker off the right-side screw on the back of your console. You’ve got this!
Step 2
– Grab your trusty T10 Torx screwdriver and get ready to tackle those two 12.6 mm screws chillin’ at the back of the console. Let’s get to it!
Step 3
– Give that console a fun twist and rotate it 90 degrees!
– Now, gently pull the front of the upper plastic case towards you until it stops. This will help those pesky clips slide right out of their snug spots on the upper plastic case.
Step 4
– Give that console a little twist! Rotate it 90 degrees until the back is looking right at you.
– Now, gently lift the left side of the upper plastic case (from the back view), and stop when it feels like it’s had enough lift for the moment.
Step 5
If pushing up on the case isn’t doing the trick, give it a little shimmy in different directions until it finally swings open like it’s ready for a party.
– While you keep holding the left side of the upper plastic case, give a gentle push on the right side to sneak the right-side screw boss out of your way.
– Now, swing that upper plastic case open to a cool 75 degrees!
Step 6
– Time to bring your device back together! Just retrace your steps in the opposite order to reassemble it.
– Oops! If you didn’t finish this guide, no worries!
– If you run into any tricky spots, don’t hesitate to schedule a repair!
