Samsung Galaxy S8 vibration motor Motor Replacement Guide

Duration: 45 minutes
Steps: 26 Steps

Follow this guide to swap out the vibration motor motor in your Samsung Galaxy S8. To tackle this task, you’ll first peel off the sleek rear glass cover. Make sure to grab some replacement adhesive for sticking the back cover back on snugly. Before diving in, remember to zap the battery down below the 25% mark. Just a precaution—the battery could go boom if it gets a puncture, but we’re lowering the odds here by discharging it.

Step 1

– Pop that iOpener right in the middle of the microwave and let it soak up some heat!

Step 6

– Alright, you’re going to be slicing through the adhesive that’s holding that rear glass panel snugly in place. Let’s get into it!

– Take a peek at the first image to see how the adhesive is positioned on the rear case. It’s your map for what’s ahead!

– Now, let’s talk about the prying pattern. Here’s the game plan from the outside of the phone:

Step 7

– Once the back panel feels nice and toasty, grab a suction cup and place it as close to the warmed edge of your phone as you can, steering clear of that curved area.

– Give that suction cup a gentle pull, and slide in an opening pick beneath the rear glass.

Step 8

– Get that tool snugly in the glass, then heat things up again with the iOpener to loosen that sticky adhesive. You’re doing great!

– Make sure to leave an opening pick in each side as you move on to the next. This little buddy will keep the adhesive from getting all clingy again.

Step 11

– Grab your trusty opening picks and gently glide them along any leftover adhesive to free up the phone just a bit.

– When it’s time to put everything back together, angle that back cover just right so the fingerprint sensor cable lines up perfectly with its socket. Then, with a little finesse, use the flat side of your spudger to press down and click the connector into place. Easy peasy!

– Carefully lift the glass off the phone and you’re on your way!
