A faulty battery is one of the most common issues with the SmartCast Tablet. When you’re taking the battery out, just be careful with the wiring harness—it’s a bit delicate, and you don’t want to risk damaging the plug. Take your time and you’ll be good to go!
Step 1
– Grab that trusty black plastic spudger tool from your toolkit. Now, set your device up just like you see in the picture. Slide the flat end of the spudger right into the gap above the power button, nestled between the back cover and the front screen. You’ve got this!

– Carefully lift the plate with your spudger. Don’t worry if you hear some cracking sounds while you’re working the spudger around – that’s totally normal.

– Gently work your fingers around the edges of the tablet, prying it open until the back cover pops off. Once that’s done, you’ll have easy access to the battery inside!
Step 4
Carefully set the battery aside for now, as you’ll need to disconnect the wires that link it to the device in the upcoming step.
– Spotting the battery is a breeze – just look for the yellow tape wrapping it up! For this step, grab your trusty black spudger tool. Slide the pointy end right under the bottom right corner of the battery, and give it a gentle pry to lift it up and break that adhesive glue.

– Grab that trusty Torx T5 screwdriver bit and ratchet from your toolkit. Find the two sleek 3mm black screws hanging out on either side of the silver metal bracket that’s keeping the wire harness in check. Unscrew those bad boys, liberate the metal bracket, and set it aside like a pro.
Step 6
– Time to put your device back together! Just retrace your steps in reverse, and you’ll be rocking and rolling in no time. If things get tricky, don’t hesitate to schedule a repair for some extra hands on deck!
