DIY Tutorial: How to Replace PRAM Battery in MacBook Pro 15 – Step-by-Step Guide

The PRAM battery is like a tiny superhero for your device, keeping the time, date, and other settings safe when your machine takes a nap!
Step 2
– Unscrew the trio of identical Phillips screws holding the memory door in place.
Step 3
– Gently lift the memory door just enough to grab it, then slide it toward yourself and pull it away from its cozy home in the casing.
Step 4
– Unscrew the two 2.8 mm Phillips party-stoppers located in the battery bay near the latch. Let’s get this repair rolling!
Step 5
– Time to unscrew! Remove these 6 screws to get to the next step.
Step 6
– Unscrew the four fabulous 3.2 mm Phillips screws chilling on the port side of your computer. Let’s make this device dance again!
Step 7
– Twist your computer by a cool 90 degrees and unscrew the two 3.2 mm Phillips screws chilling at the back of your computer.
Step 8
– Twist your computer 90 degrees once more and unscrew the four 3.2 mm Phillips screws from the computer’s side. Keep going, you’re doing great!
Step 9
Hold your horses! Don’t whip off the upper case like it’s the last slice of pizza. There’s a sneaky ribbon cable keeping it cozy with the logic board.
– Start by lifting the rear end of the case and wiggle your fingers along the sides to loosen it. Continue to work your way around, freeing it as you go. Once the sides are loose, gently rock the case up and down to disengage the front part of the upper case—watch out for those sneaky hidden plastic clips that need to be unclicked.
Step 10
– Unplug the trackpad and keyboard ribbon cable from the logic board, peeling off any tape that’s in the way.
– Gently lift off the upper case and set it aside.

– Unplug the orange SuperDrive ribbon cable from the logic board, peeling off any tape that gets in your way.

– Time to unscrew some magic! Remove these 4 screws:

– Gently lift the optical drive out of the computer, like you’re giving it a little hug as it says goodbye!
Step 14
– Unplug the PRAM battery cable from its cozy nook at the bottom right corner of the logic board. Rock on!
